The Pole Yard is a unique home-grown business specialising in outdoor timber and home improvements. The Pole Yard supplies and manufactures poles, timber, fencing, rustic garden furniture, jungle gyms, wooden decking, a full range of garden products and much more. We carry a huge range of poles including tapered pine, cylindricals and eucalyptus (gum) poles / latte. We can manufacture to your specs and have five retail branches in the Western Cape for your convenience.

Godfrey de Long

West Coast Branch

Godfrey de Long is The Pole Yard’s business partner in the West Coast branch. Godfrey started working for The Pole Yard in May 2006, and was soon elevated to the position of Branch Manager at the Noordhoek Branch, where he remained until mid-2010. It was around about this time that there was talk about opening a new ‘standalone’ outlet on the West Coast, and Godfrey was invited to become a Partner in this new Joint Venture model with Leeroy, John & James. It was decided that Vredenburg was the ideal location for this new format of the Pole Yard brand, so in May 2010 Godfrey relocated to the West Coast where he continues to function as the managing director of the Pole Yard West Coast.

Ryan Crumpton

Gordon’s Bay Branch

Ryan joined The Pole Yard in November of 2017 opening up the Helderberg branch based in Gordon’s Bay. For the past 14 years he’s been in the carpentry industry specialising in Interior Joinery. “I’m very excited to be a part of such a dynamic business combined with an excellent team, and look forward to continuously building the Helderberg branch”, said Ryan.
